{"id":5024,"date":"2025-12-05T15:41:24","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T14:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/irccs.com\/divisioni-cliniche\/advanced-clinical-research-and-innovation\/"},"modified":"2026-03-26T17:38:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-26T16:38:04","slug":"advanced-clinical-research-and-innovation","status":"publish","type":"medical-area","link":"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/divisioni-cliniche\/advanced-clinical-research-and-innovation\/","title":{"rendered":"Clinical Research and Innovation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span  id=\"description\" class=\"h2_anchor\"><\/span>Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Clinical research is a key asset of the Institute, and the <strong>Directorate of Clinical Research and Innovation<\/strong>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/scientific-direction\/\">division of the Scientific Directorate<\/a> working in close synergy with the <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/divisioni-cliniche\/health-management\/\">Health Directorate<\/a>, <strong>serves ad the driving force<\/strong> behind both sponsored and independent clinical research. The Directorate <strong>integrates patient care, clinical research, therapeutic innovation<\/strong>, and <strong>advanced diagnostics<\/strong> into a unified, interdisciplinary model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this approach, the Directorate<strong> promotes, coordinates, and monitors the quality of clinical research while fostering collaborations with national and international partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Directorate of Clinical Research and Innovation oversees the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/divisioni-cliniche\/phase-i-clinical-unit\/\">Phase I Clinical Unit<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/divisioni-cliniche\/clinical-research-unit-cru\/\">Clinical Research Unit<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Clinical research activities are carried out by <strong>highly qualified medical, nursing, and technical staff<\/strong>, along with<strong> clinical researchers <\/strong>from multiple Institute departments. These professionals participate in specialized and continuous training programs and work closely with research coordinators and experts from diagnostic and therapeutic platforms. This organizational model ensures a shared, integrated, and efficient approach oriented toward <strong>scientific excellence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span  id=\"mission\" class=\"h2_anchor\"><\/span>Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The mission of the Directorate is to <strong>strengthen and accelerate clinical research<\/strong>, supporting the continuous evolution of diagnostic-therapeutic pathways and the <strong>introduction of innovative therapies<\/strong>. By fostering synergy between preclinical and clinical research, the Directorate creates conditions for the development of new drugs, therapeutic combinations, and advanced diagnostic-technological tools. <br \/>Management is also committed to <strong>maintaining compliance with the standards required by the Italian IRCCS and OECI accreditation<\/strong> <strong>systems<\/strong>, reinforcing the Institute\u2019s role as a <strong>center of excellence in oncology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span  id=\"responsibilities\" class=\"h2_anchor\"><\/span>Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Management of the directorate is responsible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Promoting, planning, coordinating, <\/strong>and <strong>monitoring<\/strong> the <strong>activation of clinical trials<\/strong>, including both industry-sponsored and independent studies initiated by the Institute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Defining procedures, objectives, and priorities<\/strong>, ensuring process <strong>quality <\/strong>in line with international best practices and providing <strong>continuous training<\/strong> for the Institute\u2019s investigators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintains relationships with <strong>pharmaceutical companies, CROs, regulatory bodies and academic partners<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supporting clinical researchers <\/strong>throughout the trial process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guiding the establishment of institutional <strong>Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contributing to protocol <strong>feasibility reviews<\/strong> and <strong>strategic planning of patient enrollment<\/strong> activities, thereby fostering the scientific and economic growth of the Institute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span  id=\"contact\" class=\"h2_anchor\"><\/span>Contact<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Directorate is the <strong>point of contact for sponsors, industrial partners, institutions and personnel involved in clinical research<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Active clinical trials: <a href=\"mailto:ufficio.trials@ircc.it\">ufficio.trials@ircc.it<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Activation of new clinical trials: <a href=\"clinicalstudy.startup@ircc.it\">clinicalstudy.startup@ircc.it <\/a> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborations and partnerships (responsible Lawyer Paola Baggetta): <a href=\"mailto:paola.baggetta@ircc.it\">paola.baggetta@ircc.it<\/a> &#8211; <a href=\"mailto:contratti@ircc.it\">contratti@ircc.it<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>TTO &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/tto\/\">Technology Transfer Office<\/a> (head James Hughes, PhD) <a href=\"mailto:tto@ircc.it\">tto@ircc.it<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span  id=\"equipe\" class=\"h2_anchor\"><\/span>\u00c9quipe<\/h2>\n\n\n\t<div id=\"block_69c560e42bf1c\" class=\"related-doctors-block acf-block\">\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"class_list":["post-5024","medical-area","type-medical-area","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
