<\/span>Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Institute\u2019s Health Directorate<\/strong> oversees, coordinates, and governs all healthcare activities, ensuring that every service meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and clinical appropriateness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working in close partnership with General Management and the Operational Units, it ensures care pathways that are not only clinically effective but also patient-centered, transparent, and respectful of individual dignity<\/strong>, fostering a model grounded in interdisciplinary collaboration<\/strong> and continuous quality improvement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Responsibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Health Directorate carries out policy, coordination and oversight functions accross a wide range of areas, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • organizing and coordinating clinical activities and healthcare personnel<\/strong>, while promoting training <\/strong>and continuing professional development<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • safeguarding patient rights and privacy<\/strong>, with particular attention to the proper application of informed consent<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • managing medical and surgical records<\/strong>, ensuring traceability, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • overseeing workplace health and safety <\/strong>in collaboration with the Prevention and Protection Service<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • conducting health surveillance<\/strong>, with a focus on healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • leading clinical risk management activities<\/strong>, including the prevention, monitoring, and analysis of adverse events<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • defining and monitoring diagnostic and therapeutic care pathways<\/strong> (PSDTA) to ensure quality, appropriateness, and continuity of care<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • supervising the appropriate use of healthcare resources<\/strong>, as well as accreditation and quality assurance<\/strong> processes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • overseeing diagnostic and laboratory services<\/strong> to ensure effectiveness and safety standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • promoting initiatives in prevention, rehabilitation, social medicine, and health education<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The Medical Director oversees and coordinates the Reception and Service Center (CAS)<\/strong>, the MultiDisciplinary Teams<\/strong> (or Interdisciplinary Care Groups GIC)<\/strong>, and chairs key institutional committees, including the Clinical Risk Committee, Medicines Committee, Laboratories Committee, Hospital Discharge Records (SDO) Committee, Pain-Free Hospital Committee, and the Good Use of Blood Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Finally, the Medical Director is responsible for the Public Relations Office <\/strong>(PRO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
