<\/span>Mission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Health Directorate<\/strong> of the Candiolo Institute – IRCCS coordinates, manages and controls all health activities of the Institute, ensuring that each service meets the highest standards of quality, safety and clinical appropriateness<\/strong>.
It collaborates closely with the General Management and the various Operational Units to ensure a care pathway that is not only clinically effective, but also humane, transparent and respectful of patient dignity<\/strong>, promoting a care model based on interdisciplinary collaboration<\/strong> and continuous improvement<\/strong> in the quality of care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Responsibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Health Directorate performs policy, coordination and supervisory functions in numerous areas, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • organization and coordination of clinical activities and health personnel<\/strong>, promoting training <\/strong>and continuing education <\/strong>initiatives;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • protection of the privacy and rights of the person being cared<\/strong> for, with particular attention to the proper application of informed consent to health care treatment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • management of medical records and surgical record<\/strong>, ensuring traceability, completeness and compliance with applicable regulations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • prevention and safety in the workplace<\/strong>, in cooperation with the Prevention and Protection Service;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • sanitation surveillance<\/strong>, with a focus on care-related infections (HAIs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR);<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • clinical risk management (Risk Management)<\/strong>, with activities to prevent, monitor and analyze adverse events;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • definition and monitoring of diagnostic and therapeutic care pathways<\/strong> (PSDTAs) to ensure quality, appropriateness and continuity of care;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Supervision of the proper use of health care resources <\/strong>and accreditation and quality<\/strong> procedures;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • supervision of the activity of diagnostic and laboratory services<\/strong>, ensuring standards of effectiveness and safety;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Promotion of preventive<\/strong>, rehabilitative and social medicine initiatives<\/strong>, as well as health education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    The Medical Director organizes and directs the Reception and Service Center (CAS)<\/strong>, the Interdisciplinary Care Groups (ICGs)<\/strong>, and chairs the Clinical Risk Committee, the Medicines Committee, the Laboratories Committee, the SDO (Hospital Discharge Cards) Committee, the Pain-Free Hospital Committee, and the Good Use of Blood Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Finally, the Medical Director is responsible for the Public Relations Office <\/strong>(PRO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
