The availability of advanced technologies allows for <strong>high precision, increased effectiveness, and minimal impact on surrounding healthy organs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is Radiotherapy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Radiation therapy is a <strong>noninvasive treatment<\/strong> that uses ionizing radiation to target and destroy cancer cells. It is typically performed on an <strong>outpatient basis<\/strong>, does not require hospitalization, is <strong>painless<\/strong>, and in most cases does <strong>not require anesthesia or special medications<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Treatment pathway<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Consultation visit:<\/strong> The radiation oncologist evaluates the indication for treatment, explaining its objectives, duration, procedure, and possible side effects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Simulation CT scan:<\/strong> The patient undergoes a CT scan that allows the physician to precisely delineate the tumor and nearby organs to be protected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Treatment planning:<\/strong> Based on the simulation images, a personalized radiotherapy plan is developed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Start of sessions:<\/strong> The number of treatments varies by the type of irradiation, ranging from <strong>1\u20137 sessions for short courses<\/strong>, up to a <strong>maximum of 35 sessions<\/strong> for longer protocols. Individual sessions are brief. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After each session, the patient <strong>is not radioactive<\/strong> and can continue daily activities, including work, sports, or social commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Side effects<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Side effects<\/strong>, if present, are generally mild and manageable.
