{"id":5119,"date":"2024-12-13T11:28:22","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T10:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/irccs.com\/divisioni-cliniche\/gynecologic-oncology-and-hereditary-tumors\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T13:57:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T11:57:25","slug":"gynecologic-oncology-and-hereditary-tumors","status":"publish","type":"medical-area","link":"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/divisioni-cliniche\/gynecologic-oncology-and-hereditary-tumors\/","title":{"rendered":"Gynecologic Oncology and Hereditary Tumors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span  id=\"description\" class=\"h2_anchor\"><\/span>Description<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Division of <strong>Gynecologic Oncology and Hereditary Tumors<\/strong> at the Candiolo Cancer Institute specializes in the <strong>diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers<\/strong> and works in close synergy with the <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/divisioni-cliniche\/breast-surgery\/\"><strong>Breast Surgery<\/strong><\/a> and with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/divisioni-cliniche\/ovarian-cancer-center\/\">Center for Ovarian Tumors<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team also has particular expertise in the management of <strong>hereditary female cancers<\/strong>, which may affect both the <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/patologie\/breast-tumors\/\">breast<\/a> and pelvic organs, including <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/patologie\/tumors-of-the-ovary\/\">ovaries<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/patologie\/cervical-cancer\/\">cervix<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/patologie\/endometrial-cancers\/\">endometrium<\/a>, vagina and <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/patologie\/tumors-of-the-vulva\/\">vulva<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For women at <strong>high genetic risk<\/strong> of developing gynecologic cancers, the Division offers dedicated pathways that include <strong>oncogenetic counseling<\/strong>, conducted with genetic specialists to assess cancer risk and determine the need for <a href=\"https:\/\/irccs.com\/en\/divisioni-cliniche\/medical-genetics\/\">genetic testing<\/a>.
