All clinical activities are part of the Lung Program<\/strong>, an integrated project bringing together all professionals involved in lung cancer care. Within this precision medicine framework, each patient receives individualized therapeutic strategies\u2014including participation in international clinical trials\u2014ranging from early-stage and locally advanced disease to metastatic lung cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced Recovery Protocols<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Thoracic Oncology Surgery team applies the ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) Protocol<\/strong>, a multidisciplinary care model aimed at minimizing surgical trauma through minimally invasive VATS<\/strong> (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery) and robotic techniques. Working in close collaboration with physiotherapists and nutritionists, the protocol prepares patients physically for surgery, optimizes recovery, and significantly reduces morbidity and length of stay, which averages three days in Candiolo\u2019s Thoracic Surgery Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
