Patients receive comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team and have access to clinical trials evaluating innovative therapies and investigational drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center focuses on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Providing <strong>state-of-the-art treatment <\/strong>for ovarian and gynecologic cancers through <strong>advanced diagnostic tools, surgical techniques, and systemic therapies<br><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conducting <strong>clinical research<\/strong> aimed at improving patient care and long-term outcomes<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training gynecologic oncologists to deliver increasingly effective, <strong>personalized treatmen<\/strong>t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Care is coordinated among a team of specialists, including gynecologic oncologists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and anatomic pathologists, who collaborate to <strong>design the most appropriate treatment plan<\/strong> for each patient. Surgical management ranges from <strong>minimally invasive procedures<\/strong>, typically indicated for early-stage disease and younger patients, to<strong> complex operations<\/strong> required for advanced cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span  id=\"activities\" class=\"h2_anchor\"><\/span>Activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Ovarian Cancer Center of the Candiolo Cancer Institute, patients with suspected or confirmed ovarian cancer benefit from a <strong>highly specialized, multidisciplinary care pathway<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center provides <strong>advanced diagnostic services<\/strong>, including a Level II ultrasound clinic staffed by experts trained according to IOTA criteria, ensuring rapid and accurate assessment of suspicious pelvic masses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each patient\u2019s treatment is individualized and defined by an <strong>Multidisciplinary Care Group (GIC)<\/strong>, which develops a Diagnostic and Therapeutic Health Care Plan (PSDTA) in close collaboration with the patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Treatment options include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Surgical management<\/strong>, ranging from <strong>minimally invasive and fertility-sparing<\/strong> procedures in early-stage disease to <strong>complex cytoreductive surgery<\/strong> for advanced cases, performed by experienced gynecologic oncologists and cancer surgeons.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Systemic therapies<\/strong>, including <strong>conventional chemotherapy<\/strong> and <strong>targeted treatments<\/strong> such as bevacizumab and PARP inhibitors, particularly for patients with BRCA mutations or recurrent disease.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Innovative approaches<\/strong>, including <strong>HIPEC <\/strong>(hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) and <strong>PIPAC <\/strong>(pressurized intraperitoneal aerosol chemotherapy), offered within national and international clinical trials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Care is delivered through a <strong>comprehensive, patient-centered approach<\/strong>, supported by specialists in <strong>psycho-oncology, clinical nutrition, and palliative care<\/strong>.
