Description
Candiolo IRCCS Pneumology offers specialized support for the diagnosis and management of respiratory diseases in cancer patients, integrating clinical expertise and advanced instrumentation.
Activities
- Diagnostic bronchoscopy for airway exploration, diagnosis, and staging of lung cancer with the option of BAL, bronchial biopsies, transbronchial biopsies, and EBUS-TBNA;
- Respiratory pathophysiology, with examinations such as simple and global spirometry, alveoli-capillary diffusion, and residual volume measurement;
- Preoperative functional assessment in patients who are candidates for lung resection;
- Evaluation and treatment of pleural effusions.

How to access
The pulmonology service can only be used by patients already in the care of the Institute.
