IRCCS in Candiolo offers the opportunity for patients in the Institute’s care to engage in social-assistance counseling, particularly for the most fragile individuals with social-family issues.
Activities
The social worker at IRCCS Candiolo deals with:
- Provide information on welfare and social security benefits for patients and families;
- Enable protected discharges, transfers to nursing facilities or hospice;
- Collaborate with all stakeholders in the institute;
- Manage contacts with social workers from ASL home municipalities or other institutions;
- Facilitateaccess to territorial services;
- Promote petitions for the appointment of a support administrator or other guardianship;
- Provide information and help in arranging “imminently life-threatening” marriages.

How to access
The social work service can only be used by patients already in the care of the Institute.
