Description
The Candiolo IRCCS Radiodiagnostic Service is a point of reference for early diagnosis, staging and monitoring of oncological diseases. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and a highly specialized team, it is possible to obtain precise and detailed images, which are essential for guiding the course of treatment in the most effective and timely manner.
Activities
Advanced diagnostic methods with state-of-the-art machinery are used at the Institute to:
- Diagnostic imaging (CT – MRI – Ultrasound) for prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of cancer diseases;
- Virtual colonoscopy for early detection of colo-rectal carcinoma;
- Breast diagnostics (mammography, ultrasound, MRI and guided biopsies);
- Interventional radiology procedures (including inpatient): embolization, chemoembolization, drainage of biliary tract, urinary tract, abscesses; percutaneously guided biopsies, vertebroplasty (spinal surgery and degenerative discopathy of the spine).
All of these investigations are crucial not only in the initial phase, but also to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments over time.
