Description
Skin Tumor Surgery at IRCCS Candiolo is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and surgical treatment of skin malignancies, with a multidisciplinary approach geared toward the care and protection of the patient’s functional and aesthetic integrity.
The team is particularly concerned with the management of:
- Primary skin cancers, such as melanoma, basal cell carcinoma (basalioma) and squamous cell carcinoma (spinocellular carcinoma)
- Rare neoplasms with cutaneous localization, including cutaneous lymphomas, sarcomas and vascular tumors
The activity is carried out in synergy with the Dermatology, Medical Oncology, Pathologic Anatomy and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Units to ensure a personalized, safe and effective course of care.
Activities
Specialists perform:
- Specialist dermatological examinations for early detection of skin cancer diseases
- Clinical and dermatoscopic diagnosis of pigmented lesions of the skin
- Surgical treatment of cutaneous neoplasms, on an outpatient, day surgery or inpatient basis, depending on the complexity of the procedure
- Clinical and instrumental follow-up of treated patients
- Laser surgery for the management of cutaneous precancerosis
