Dr. Barbara Ramella is a speech therapist and adjunct professor at the University of Turin, the Catholic University and the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University of Milan. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy from the University of Turin, where she also earned her Master’s degree in Deglutology, and her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences of the Health Professions from Catholic University.
She specializes in Oral Motor Therapy, PROEL Method, LSVT LOUD, and NeuroMuscular Taping in Speech Therapy, areas in which she conducts clinical and educational activities. She is also the only speech therapist in Italy to jointly hold the USC Chan Sensory Integration, Level 3 OPT Specialist and SOS Trained Feeding Therapist certifications. He deals with dysphagia, sensory integration, and oral-motor disorders, with a focus on developmental and neurological patients.
He performs freelance and consulting work at the IRCCS San Raffaele in Milan, where he contributed to the creation of the Dysphagia Specialist Outpatient Clinic and the drafting of internal guidelines for the management of the dysphagic patient.
He has also collaborated with theOtolaryngology Unit of Candiolo IRCCS Institute since 2023, working on speech evaluation and treatment in swallowing and voice disorders.
She is the author of scientific publications and a speaker at national and international conferences. He is a member of the Italian Deglutology Society, the European Society for Swallowing Disorders, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Oncology Network.
