Prof. Dario Sangiolo

Dr. Dario Sangiolo is Associate Professor of Medical Oncology at the Department of Oncology, University of Turin. He coordinates the Oncology Immunotherapy Departmental Simple Facility and the Cancer Immunotherapy Laboratory at the Candiolo IRCCS Institute.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Messina, later specialized in Medical Oncology and received his PhD in Human Oncology from the University of Turin.

He did a three-year postdoctoral research period at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA, USA, where he participated in transplant immunology and experimental immunotherapy projects, gaining integrated experience between preclinical research and clinical application.
He has been part of the academic staff of the University of Turin since 2012, initially as a researcher and then, since 2020, as an associate professor. His work lies at the interface between translational research and clinical practice, with a focus on the development of innovative immunotherapy strategies, particularly cell therapies, for the treatment of solid tumors resistant to conventional treatments.
His dual perspective as clinician and researcher is reflected in the mission of the Oncology Immunotherapy Division at IRCCS Candiolo, which integrates patient care and experimental research to foster the clinical application of new immunotherapy strategies.

He has authored numerous publications in the field of cancer immunotherapy and is a member of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
