The new next-generation Gamma Camera arrives

At theCandiolo Institute, the new Siemens Symbia Pro.specta X3 Gamma SPECT/CT Camera, an advanced technology for Nuclear Medicine, has gone into operation.

With this equipment, it will be possible to acquire more precise three-dimensional images, which are essential for planning radionuclide treatments and for examinations such as sentinel lymph node detection, as well as bone and thyroid scintigraphs.

The new SPECT/CT provides faster acquisition times, increasing patient comfort and safety, and significantly reduces radiation exposure. In addition, quantitative assessment of radiopharmaceutical distribution enables even more targeted therapeutic planning.

The service was made possible thanks to the Piedmont Foundation for Cancer Research and the generous support of donors, who support innovation that benefits patients.

This is yet another step forward that confirms the Candiolo Institute’s commitment to offering increasingly accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment pathways.
