Dr. Damiano Carota received his medical degree from the University of Catania, Italy, and then his specialization in Pathological Anatomy from the University of Turin, Italy. In the course of his specialization, he did his professional work at City of Health and Science of Turin, San Luigi Gonzaga Hospital, Giovanni Bosco Hospital and Candiolo Institute- IRCCS.
Since 2024 he has been working at the Candiolo-IRCCS Institute where he is among the members of the Pathology Anatomy Service. It preferentially deals with skin pathology and supports diagnostics of the gastrointestinal system. He is a member of the Italian Melanoma Intergroup and the Italian Society of Anatomic Pathology and Cytology (SIAPEC). Actively participates in the Study Groups of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Oncology Network. He has co-authored scientific publications in international journals.
