Description
At the Candiolo IRCCS, patients in care can take advantage of a dedicated dietary service, run by specialists with specific expertise in the nutritional management of cancer patients.
Dietitians work closely with oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other specialists so as to integrate nutrition into the treatment pathway from the beginning and support the patient at every stage, from diagnosis to follow-up.
Activities
The activities of the service focus on both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects, with special attention to:
- Accurate assessment of each patient’s nutritional status, including the possible prescription of supplementation and/or artificial feeding elements according to individualized nutritional pathways;
- Scientific research in onco-nutrition to develop and validate innovative dietary strategies that can improve treatment tolerance, promote recovery and contribute to quality of life.

How to access
The dietetics and clinical nutrition service can only be used by patients already in the care of the Institute.
