Description
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology and Hereditary Tumors specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers and works in close synergy with the Breast Surgery and with the Center for Ovarian Tumors of the Institute.
The team also has specific expertise in the management of hereditary female cancers, which can affect the breast and pelvis(ovaries, cervix, endometrium, vagina and vulva).
For women who have a high genetic risk of developing gynecologic cancers, the Division offers dedicated pathways that include oncogenetic counseling visits, conducted in collaboration with genetic specialists, aimed at assessing cancer risk and possibly prescribing genetic testing for mutations.
