Dr. Angelo Maggio received his bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Catania, Italy, and later his specialization in medical physics from the University of Milan, Italy.
Over the years, he has carried out his professional activities between IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda in Milan and Humanitas Research Hospital in Rozzano (Milan).
He has been working at IRCCS Candiolo since 2011, where he is among the members of the Health Physics team.
He has held the titles of Radiation Protection Expert Grade II, Magnetic Resonance Imaging Safety Responsible Expert, Laser Safety Responsible Expert, High Activity Source Responsible Expert.
He has more than 5,000 treatment plans to his credit. He is responsible for two therapy accelerators.
From 2012 to 2019, he held formal teaching contracts at the AOU City of Health and Science of Turin.
He is the author and co-author of about 98 articles/posters including 23 full-text papers published in national and international journals.
