Dr. Gianluca Robert Witel received his medical degree from the University of Bologna, Italy, and his subsequent specialization in Pathologic Anatomy from the University of Turin, Italy.
Since 2023 he has been working at IRCCS Candiolo, where he is among the members of the Pathology Anatomy Service. He is a referral for gastro-enteric and hepato-biliary tract diagnostics and supports thoraco-pulmonary and soft tissue diagnostics. Histopathological diagnostic activities are complemented by participation in molecular diagnostics for both in situ methods and so-called “in vitro assays” (DNA and RNA sequencing on tissue samples of solid tumors).
Actively participates in the Study Groups of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Oncology Network.
He is a member of the Italian Society of Anatomic Pathology and Cytology (SIAPEC).
He has authored and co-authored scientific publications in international journals.
