Pathologic anatomy

Dr. Laura Casorzo graduated from the University of Turin with a degree in Biological Sciences and later completed her specialization in Medical Genetics at the University of Pavia.

From 1992 to 1998, he served in the Pathological Anatomy Laboratory of ASL CN2 Alba-Bra.

Since 1999, he has been working as a Senior Biologist at the Pathological Anatomy Service of IRCCS Candiolo as the referent of the Laboratory of Oncological Cytogenetics. It has to its credit about 30,000 classical (karyotype analysis) and molecular (FISH) cytogenetic analyses on bone marrow blood and tissue samples, making use of state-of-the-art image analysis instrumentation and having an extensive panel of fluorescent probes suitable for in-depth diagnostic, prognostic and predictive investigation of a broad spectrum of oncological diseases.

A member of the Italian Society of Human Genetics (SIGU), she is the author and coauthor of more than 30 scientific publications and as many papers and conference appearances.

Since 2016, he has been a member of the Molecular Pathology Group of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Oncology Network, collaborating in drafting guidelines and recommendations in support of regional Cytogenetics and Molecular Pathology laboratories.
