Dr. Luigi Carlo Turco graduated in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Policlinico universitario Agostino Gemelli IRCCS, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, specializing in Gynecology and devoting himself to the oncology branch of the specialty.
During his career, he served at the Agostino Gemelli IRCCS University Polyclinic, under the direction of Professor Giovanni Scambia, in what is the most prestigious Operative Unit of Gynecologic Oncology in Europe, as well as at other hospital facilities affiliated with the same University Polyclinic and of territorial relevance in Italy.
He is currently director of the Ovarian Cancer Center at IRCCS Candiolo.
In addition to specific expertise in the intensive surgical treatment of ovarian cancer (primary cytoreduction surgery, interval surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, recurrence surgery, intraoperative chemohyperthermia), Dr. Turco presents high expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery on multiple platforms.
This activity is complemented by scientific research: he is the author of numerous publications in Gynecologic Oncology and has achieved national scientific qualification as a university professor.
He is a member of several national and international surgical gynecology societies in which he plays active roles in education and scientific outreach.
